The Search Ring sidebar helps you unlock your organic traffic potential by helping you write for pre-defined reader intents.

How it works

Instead of focussing on narrow keywords, Reword instead helps you optimize for the bigger picture. Often, the search terms that bring our articles the most traffic are not the ones we were originally optimizing for.

With the Search Ring, you can focus on optimizing for broader reader intents, so that search engines can do the heavy lifting to find the traffic for us.

Each colored section on the search ring represents a reader intent that you are optimizing towards.

  • Green shows that the article is satisfying a given reader intent.

  • Yellow indicates that the article is adequate for a given intent, but can be improved.

  • Orange or red tells us that there's an opportunity to unlock more traffic.

Take this for example:

In this example, we can quickly determine that 3 of our reader intents are satisfied. however, there are 2 which could do with some more work.

If we optimize our article and add more content for these 2 reader intents, we're very likely to collect more organic search traffic over time.

Managing your reader intents

You can customize, add and remove your reader intents at any time.

To do this, click on the icon next to the 'Search intents' section:

  • You can drag intents into different orders

  • Add new intents

  • Remove existing intents
